Copenhagen - Where to Eat?
Looking for a culinary experience in Copenhagen during your stay?
Why not try a Michelin selected restaurant. It doesn’t have to be that expensive.
The Nordic Michelin Ceremony 2025 took place on June 16 in Denmark.
Denmark strengthened its position as a gastronomic powerhouse when Michelin in 2025 awarded Danish cuisine eight new stars, bringing the total to 52 stars across 38 restaurants. Behind this success lies an entire industry that, over the past two decades, has worked relentlessly with talent development, quality, and innovation.
The prestigious Michelin Stars for the Nordic region 2025 were just announced at a grand event in Odsherred, and it turned into a true celebration for Danish gastronomy. Denmark not only received eight new stars but also didn’t lose a single one.
In addition to the star-studded honors, seven restaurants in Denmark were awarded a Bib Gourmand—a significant recognition of the high culinary standard found throughout the country.
Denmark has now doubled its number of Michelin stars in just nine years, marking a remarkable development where gastronomy has evolved from a niche interest at the turn of the century to a source of national pride.
This is Denmark’s 2025 Michelin landscape:
38 establishments with Michelin stars delivering a national total of 52 stars.
Bib Gourmand venues offering premium dining without star prices.
Michelin Selected venues for consistent quality beyond stars/Bibs.
A deep commitment to sustainability, evidenced by Green Stars and Emblems.
A homegrown spotlight, hosting the 2025 Nordic Ceremony in an eco-cultural setting.
From world-class gastronomy at Noma, Geranium, and Jordnær, to accessible culinary gems, Denmark's scene blends excellence, creativity, and conscience - making 2025 a deliciously defining year in Nordic cuisine.
In addition to stars, Denmark excels in sustainability, with 7 Green Stars and 14 Sustainability Emblems awarded in 2025.
Across Denmark, Michelin also highlights quality spots that don’t earn stars or Bibs but deserve recognition under “The Plate”. While specific entries aren’t exhaustively listed in public sources, they typically include well-regarded cafés, bakeries, and smaller restaurants known for consistently good food.
